South Africa: Members of the Uitenhage K9 Unit were able to recover Three stolen vehicles from a thief thanks to a K9 (Police Dog) identified as Yady
According to the South African Police Service, the successful arrest of a 30-year-old suspected thief who was found in possession of a stolen vehicle was the result of excellent coordination.

SAPS revealed that, members of the SAPS Uitenhage K9 Unit responded to an alert at 21:40 on Sunday, 17 April 2022, and immediately proceeded to an open plot of land in Kwazakele, where they discovered a vehicle with three people inside.
When the suspects saw the police car approaching, they leapt out of the blue Ford Laser and began running.

Yady, the K9 (Police Dog), was immediately released to go after the suspects and she was able to catch and hold down one of the suspects.
The Ford Laser that was seen with the thieves was allegedly stolen in Motherwell that same night.

The other two suspects managed to elude capture by jumping over a fence.
Members of the Uitenhage K9 Unit continued to search the area and were successful in recovering two more stolen vehicles: a blue Ford Bantam reported stolen in Motherwell in March 2022 and a white Opel Astra reported stolen in Ikamvelihle in September 2021.
All three vehicles were seized and will be investigated further.
On Tuesday, April 19, 2022, the arrested suspect is scheduled to appear in the New Brighton Magistrate’s Court on a charge of possession of suspected stolen property.
