Acting on solid and actionable intelligence, operatives of the Nigeria Police Force attached to the Keffi Area Command of the Nasarawa State Command arrested twenty-four (24) suspected political thugs at Minki Suites, along the Keffi-Akwanga Road.
According to a statement released by CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, force public relations officer, force HQ, Abuja, the thugs suspected to be loyal to an aspirant in the Nasarawa West Senatorial primaries came into the hotel in a convoy of seven private vehicles.

Items recovered from the thugs include; eight (8) pump action guns, two (2) locally made revolver guns, 37 rounds of live cartridges, four (4) bulletproof vests, twenty-seven (27) mobile phones, two (2) pairs of vigilante uniforms, five (5) cutlasses, ten (10) assorted knives, criminal charms, and other incriminating objects.

CSP Adejobi said preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects, who were said to be hired thugs, carry out their heinous act under the pretext of being members of the Nigerian Vigilante Group (VGN).

According to him, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, the Inspector-General of Police, has directed that the matter be sent to the Force Criminal Investigation Department’s (FCID) Electoral Offences Desk and that the concerned aspirant be arrested immediately for further investigation.
