According to reports, UNKNOWN GUNMEN have killed a total of seven people in different parts of Anambra State in the early hours of Monday morning, including a police officer.
Prior to this latest attack, about 4 days ago, the unknown gunmen had earlier taken the lives of five people at a beer parlour in Osumenyi and a policewoman in Ukpor, all in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra state.

According a video currently trending on social media, two of the victims of Monday’s attacks were killed at Ukpor, the headquarters of Nnewi South Local Government Area, while two others were killed along Udorji road, beside St. Mary’s Church, Ozubulu, in Ekwusigo Local Government Area.
The two men killed in Ukpor, identified as Godwin Ikechukwu Modobi and Nnajiofor Modobi, were said to be brothers from the same parents and hailed from Umuhu village in Ukpor, according to the Nigerian Tribune.
Godwin was Nnajiofor’s immediate younger brother, according to a family source, and was also a former youth leader in the town.

According to the source, the gunmen killed Nnajiofor first when they broke into their home in the early hours of Monday, then blindfolded and abducted the younger brother, whom they later killed at Utuh Junction and dumped his body in the middle of the road.
One of the trending videos from the scene of the tragedy, which shows the corpse laying alone in the middle of the lonely road with no vehicles or pedestrians passing by, backs up this claim.
Close to the corpse, in a pool of blood, were fired bullets, with vivid gunshot wounds on the chest and other parts of the victim’s body.
Additionally, three people were also allegedly killed in two communities by the unknown gunmen after reportedly violating Monday’s sit-at-home order.
Another two were also reportedly killed in Ozubulu, in the Ekwusigo Local Government Area, and one was killed in Utuh, in the Nnewi South Local Government Area.
