Two Serial rapists have been arrested by men of the Nigerian Police after carrying out 4 sex attacks on children between the ages of 11 months and 10 years old.
Reacting to the arrest of the serial rapists, CP Echeng Echeng, Commissioner of Police, Anambra Command, urged parents and guardians to use extreme caution while picking who will care for their children or wards.

The CP issued this advice on Monday, March 21, 2022, following the arrest and interrogation of two suspects, one Peter Ezeala ‘M’ 61 years from Mbano, Imo State, and one Elochukwu Igwilo ‘M’ 27 years from Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Anambra State, for their alleged involvement in a case of defilement of four minors aged 11 months, 5 years, 7 years, and 10 years respectively.

According to the CP, on March 5th, 2022, an incident occurred in Umudim, Nnewi, Anambra State.
Investigation revealed that the victims’ mother, a trader, left the children in the care of the accused whenever she went to work.
Unfortunately, the suspects took advantage of the situation to exploit the children.
The suspects have been detained in a Correctional Services Centre in the meantime pending the conclusion of investigation.
There has been a recent wave of rapes and killing of women in Nigeria, which have led to a national outcry, the most recently of which is the story of 22-year-old lady, Oluwabamise Ayanwole, who was raped and killed after boarding a Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) service in Lagos.
This resulted in outrage with thousands using the hashtag #JusticeForBamise on social media and many rights group calling for the country to declare a state of emergency on rape and sexual violence.
