In a gunfight at Amauju Isu Local Government Area in Imo state, troops from EXERCISE GOLDEN DAWN Sector 3 reportedly neutralized a member of the banned IPOB/ESN.

In a statement released by the Nigerian Army through its public relations director, Brig Gen Oyema Nwachukwu, members of the proscribed gang attempted to kidnap a group of medical physicians and nurses known as “Doctors on the Move Africa,” who were delivering free medical care to residents of Amucha Community in Imo State’s Njaba Local Government Area.

On receiving actionable intelligence on the criminal scheme, the troops, in collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force 211 Quick Response Group and the Nigerian Police, rushed in quickly and rescued the medical team. The medical staff has been taken to a secure area.
Following that, the troops pursued the hoodlums and caught up with them in Amauju Isu Local Government Area of Imo State, where they were found enforcing the illegal sit-at-home order in Amauju.

One of the criminals was neutralized in the ensuing firefight, while the others took to their heels. One of them, who had escaped with a gunshot wound, was later arrested and given over to the police by the local Vigilante.
One pump action shotgun, five live rounds, a Lexus 300 XR SUV, and a cellphone were retrieved by the gallant troops.
