The Kenyan National Police Service has instituted disciplinary measures against a traffic police officer who forced himself into a car through the window.
This was revealed in a statement by Kenya’s Directorate of Criminal Investigation.

In a dramatic incident captured live by Citizen TV crew who were on the beat in Nairobi’s central business district, the traffic police officer forcefully gained access into to the vehicle before ejecting the driver who took flight.
What looked to be a disagreement between the driver and the traffic police officer quickly devolved into a violent situation when the officer took a step back, removed his cap, and pushed his left foot through the passenger’s side window to gain entry into the vehicle, with little regard to the passenger occupying the passenger seat.

After a brief altercation, the aggrieved driver was expelled and the officer took control of the vehicle, leaving the remaining passengers perplexed.

The incident on Kenyatta Avenue drew widespread outrage online, with netizens blasting the officer for acting inappropriately and casting a negative light on the entire police force.

The National Police Service has condemned the occurrence, identified the errant officer, and taken appropriate disciplinary action against him, according to a communication released this evening.
