‘It was the devil’s work,’ claims suspect after rapping an 80-year-old woman in Nasarawa.
One Dan’asabe Eddo of Kundami Village, Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State has been arrested for allegedly raping an 80-year-old woman.

The arrest was detailed in a statement released by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ramhan Nansel, and made available to DAILY POST on Sunday.
According to the statement, the suspect confessed to the crime after being interrogated, blaming his actions on the devil.

The statement reads, “Upon a complaint lodged at Garaku Division on 14/1/2022 at about 2230hrs, that one Dan’asabe Eddo `M` of Kubasha village, Kagarko LGA, Kaduna but a resident of Kundami Village, Garaku, Kokona LGA of Nasarawa State nocturnally went into the residence of an 80 years old woman who stays alone at the same village and forcefully had canal knowledge of her.”
It was revealed in the statement that the Garaku Division police operatives jumped into action right away and apprehended the offender.
During questioning, the suspect acknowledged to committing the crime and blamed it on the devil’s work.
The state’s Commissioner of Police, CP Adesina Soyemi, has directed that the matter be sent to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Lafia for further investigation, according to the PPRO.
The Commissioner, on the other hand, advised citizens to pay more attention to the elderly and safeguard them from gerontophiles.
