“We won’t know the exact number of innocent people killed until Monday morning because we all fled and many of us rushed into the bushes while others hid throughout the attack.”

“It is a retaliation attack because unknown individuals killed a Fulani man [believed to have been affiliated to terrorists] at Fakon Idi on Friday here in Tsafe,” Nafiu Ibrahim, a Tsafe local who narrowly escaped, told HumAngle.

“We believe this is what precipitated today’s attack,” he added.

After leaving a mosque in Shiyar Namada, Shuaibu Nuhu, another eyewitness and D.I.G. Ibrahim’s neighbor, said he saw about 11 armed members of the terrorist group.
