This comes as nine Nigerian Army soldiers were seriously injured when their convoy collided with IEDs planted by militants in Malam Fatori, Borno State’s Abadam Local Government Area.

PRNigeria revealed that the Nigerian soldiers were on their way to Tumbun Dan Katsina to provide reinforcement for troops engaging some ISWAP terrorists in the area.

Meanwhile, it was reported that Nigerian Air Force (NAF), in collaboration with troops from the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF), carried out repeated airstrikes on ISWAP camps in Sabon Tumbu, a swampy location in Marte Local Government Area (LGA) in Borno State, on Wednesday.

According to a military source, the coordinated strike was undertaken in response to an information that ISWAP terrorists numbering over 100 aboard speed boats had been spotted at Sabon Tumbu.

According to a source speaking to PRNigeria, Super Tucano Jets were quickly sent for the operation and attacked the terrorists’ stronghold, killing a large number of them.

“An ISR (Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance) carried out inside the general vicinity revealed enormous convergence of terrorists fleeing a military attack,” he claimed.

He said that repeated air strikes have hampered the jihadists’ operational command, preventing their plans to target military positions in the Malam Fatori, Damasak, Gubio, and Kauwa areas.
