Russia Ukraine Crisis: Two Russian soldiers have been reportedly captured by Ukrainian Armed Forces after the latest Russian military invasion of the country.
The incident comes early Thursday morning after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a military action in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine, urging Ukrainian forces to lay down their arms and go home.

In a Twitter post, an Ukrainian source revealed that these are “the first prisoners Soldiers of the 91701 Yampil Motorized Rifle Regiment.”

Hundreds of Ukrainian forces have been reported killed in the early confrontations, according to officials, when the fight came at them from all sides at once. Official numbers placed the dead toll at 40, with ‘dozens’ of people injured. From east to west, cruise missiles, guided bombs, and GRAD rockets targeted airfields, military bases, ammo dumps, and command posts, including the capital.

Ukraine reported that six Russian jets were blasted out of the sky over the eastern Donbass region, killing 50 Russian troops, before Moscow boasted of regaining control of the skies.
Reacting to the military invasion of Ukraine, Boris Johnson, the UK’s Prime Minister says “a tidal wave of violence” in Ukraine has been authorised by Russia’s President Putin.
“I cannot believe this is being done in your name,” the PM tells the Russian people.
