Delta state police command said it has rescued 5 underage girls who were lured all the away from Rivers state to Delta state for prostitution.
The 5 underage girls whose age ranges from 13 to 22 were said to have been allegedly rescued from Fagoma Hotel in Aragba, Otokutu, Ughelli South LGA, Delta State, on the 15th of April, where they were being used allegedly as commercial sex workers.

During a press briefing, the state’s commissioner of police, CP Ari Mohammed Ali, stated that the rescue operation was necessary after the police team received credible intelligence that minors were being recruited from other states and used as commercial sex workers at the hotel.

This led the Command to raid the said hotel at about 11:30 pm, where the 5 underage girls were rescued.

The statement disclosed that; “the Command got information on 15/4/2022 at approximately 2330 hours that the Fagoma Hotel in Aragba, Otokutu, Ughelli South LGA, Delta State, is being used as a brothel where underage children are trafficked and used as sex slaves.
“The command raided the brothel after obtaining this terrible information, and the following young girls were rescued:
1.Joseph Johnson ‘f’, 13 years old
2.Esther Godspower ‘f’, 21 years old3.Angel John ‘f’, 22 years old
4.Miracle Bishop ‘f’, 19 years old
5.Isreal ‘f’ 19yrs Happiness
“Investigations revealed that one Joy ‘f’ surname unknown now at large trafficked the underage girls from Rivers State to Patani, where they were forced to take an oath before being taken to Otu-Jeremi and housed by one Edwin Etareri, the owner of the brothel, and his wife, one Mrs Grace Etariri, who is currently in custody.
“During the raid, ten more male suspects and ten female suspected prostitutes were also apprehended.”
The commissioner of police concluded by saying investigation is still going on.
