In Lagos The Police in Lagos State have rescued a grand mother and her children from being lynched after they were suspected of being kidnappers.
Lagos state Rapid Response Squad disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in a Facebook post.

According to the statement, RRS patrol teams and operatives from the Ebute-Ero Police Division acted quickly to prevent the lynching of a grand mother and her children while they were being brutally beaten.
The statement further revealed that they had been mistakenly believed to be kidnappers because they had 12 children in their vehicle (ranging from 7 months to 12 years old).

“Our patrol teams and police officers from Ebute-Ero Division were on time to rescue the adults from lynching,” the statement reads.

Their vehicle was however set ablaze by the angry mob according to the statement.
Preliminary investigations, according to the statement, shows that they were all coming from the beach where they allegedly went to do some sacrifices.
The adults among the victims also explained that the children were their children and grandchildren.
The case is said to have been transferred to the SCID for further investigations.
