The Delta State Police Command says it has killed three armed robbery suspects during a gun duel along Igbuku Road in Orogun Community, Delta State.
According to the command, it received information on Thursday, 23rd June, that a gang of armed robbers were operating along Igbuku Road in Orogun Community, upon which the DPO Orogun Division, SP. Obonoh Ndem, led a team of Police and vigilantes to the scene, engaged the armed robbers in a gun duel.
However, due to the superior firepower of the Nigerian Police, two of the suspected armed robbers sustained gun shot injuries, while one of the suspect, identified as Benedict Agbawara, a 22-years-old male from Abbi town was arrested.

Items recovered from the criminals include; three {03} locally made cut-to-size guns, one live cartridge and one motorcycle.
According to the police, the Injured suspects were taken to the hospital where they later died while receiving treatment. The police said Investigation is ongoing on the matter.
In a similar development, the police in Delta said it’s operatives of the Dragon Patrol team were on stop and search duty along the Eku-Abraka route in the Ethiope East LGA of Delta State on June 24, 2022, when they received a report from a woman (name withheld) that she had seen several armed robbers who had earlier robbed her in her POS shop on May 29, 2022.
The team acted quickly and arrested the three suspects, who were identified as Jeffrey Osemudiamen’m’, age 36, of no. 28 Osazuwa Street in Benin City, Eddy Gabriel’m’, age 33, and Promise Imade’m’, age 31, both of no. 14 Paris Street, Oghara in Ethiope West LGA.

According to the police, the team also recovered the following items from them: one (1) locally made gun, four (4) live cartridges. The police also said that inquiry into the matter is still ongoing.
In another development that occured on June 23, 2022, at 8PM, Delta police said operatives of it’s Dragon Patrol Team stopped and searched a tricycle with plate number Ekp 290 QL.

The tricycle was said to be carrying three (3) passengers, who wear identified as Friday Nosakhare “m” age 23, Efe Pius “m” age 19, and Okwudili Okorie “m” age 30, all of whom are residents of Warri refinery road.
After being thoroughly searched, police found the following items under the tricycles’s seat; one locally made cut-to-size gun and two “2” live cartridges.
Again On 23/06/2022 at about 5pm, the police said, the DPO Ozoro, while acting on a distress call, that armed robbers were operating at Etereva Street, Ozoro in Isoko North LGA, mobilized and led a combined team of Police and vigilantes to the scene.
On arrival, the hoodlums engaged the team in a shootout, during which one of the armed robbers sustained bullet injuries while the others escaped.

One cut-to-size single barrel gun, two expended cartridges, one laptop, were recovered. The injured suspect later gave up the ghost while receiving treatment at the hospital.
Manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang is ongoing.
