No fewer than six suspected armed robbers have been apprehended by the Delta State Police Command in separate operations across the State, while different types of weapons were recovered from them.
The suspected armed robbers were nabbed between Thursday and Tuesday at Kwale, Ndokwa West LGA, head-bridge area in Asaba and Onicho-ugbo Community, all in Delta state.
In the Kwale Ndokwa west LGA operation, the DPO Kwale Division CSP Godwin Igoche received a distress call that an armed robbery operation was on going along Jesus Avenue in the Umusadege sections of of the are.
The DPO immediately organized and lead the Divisional Anti-Crime Patrol team to the area where the suspects engaged them in a gunfight.
However, as a result of the superior firepower of the police, one of the criminals was shot while the others managed to escape.
Items recovered include four live cartridges, four used cartridges, and one locally built gun.
The wounded suspect was taken to a hospital, where he passed away while receiving treatment. The other fleeing members of the gang are the subject of an active manhunt according to the police.

In another development, while conducting a stop-and-search operation at the head-bridge in Asaba, Delta State, the Divisional Anti Crime Patrol team attached to “C” Division Asaba stopped an unregistered KC Sanya motorcycle carrying four men, including the rider, one of whom was holding a black polythene bag.
When they saw the police, they got off the bike and ran. The officers gave them a hot pursuit, and two of the four suspects—Michael Reuben, 29, and Odemba Onochie, 30, both of Okoanala Oko in the Oshimili South LGA of Delta State—were eventually apprehended.

One of the suspects, Michael Reuben, was found to be carrying a black polythene bag with 100 (100) rounds of live 7.62MM AK 47 ammunition concealed inside. The other fugitive suspects are still being sought after.
Similarly, members of Command Special Intelligence Team, acting on intelligence, launched a sting covert operation at Onicho-ugbo Community which led to the arrest of two suspects; Ifeanyi Anakwe Samson (an ex-convict) “m” age 28yrs of Ushi quarters Onicho-ugbo and Chibuzor Obugor “m” age 20yrs of Ugoko community all in Aniocha North LGA of Delta State. One fabricated English pistol was recovered from them.

Consequently, the Operatives stormed Onicho-ugbo Community and arrested three additional suspects: Ike Okwudili “m” age 34yrs (the gang leader), a native of Agulu Community in Aniocha LGA of Anambra State but resident of Onicho-ugbo Community; Udoka Onyekanu Promise “m” age 17yrs, a native of Igbodo village in Ika.

A Lifan Super Ladies and a Sanya Super Honda Motorcycle were also recovered by the squad. The inquiry is still ongoing.
