South African Police have announced the arrest of 5 armed robbers shortly after an ATM was bombed in Carousel View, Tshwane.
The police said in a statement on Friday, May 13, 2022, that officers have arrested five suspects after an ATM was bombed in Carousel View, Tshwane.

The suspects were allegedly found with explosives and stained cash believed to have been stolen from the destroyed ATM.

One pistol, explosive items and stained cash believed to have been taken from the bombed ATM were recovered from a safe house it it was reportedly deposited by the suspects.

Reacting to the prompt response of the police, Lieutenant General Elias Mawela, the Gauteng Provincial Commissioner, praised the officers who responded quickly in the early morning hours and arrested the suspects just hours after the crime was committed.
According to the South African Police, the suspects are expected to be charged with business robbery, possession of explosives, possession of suspected stolen property, attempted murder, possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
