He also thanked members of Vigilante Groups, members of Special Constabulary, and the Command’s Community Policing Stakeholders for their prayers, encouragement, support and cooperation that led to the arrest of the suspected Yan Daba thugs.

According to him, between the 2nd and 6th of May 2022, a total of 128 alleged ‘Yan Daba’ thugs were arrested in all of the State’s Five Emirates Councils during the just concluded “Hawan Eid,” “Hawan Daushe,” “Hawan Nassarawa,” and “Hawan Fanisau” celebrations.

The Suspects, according to him, were arrested with dangerous weapons, intoxicating drugs, and stolen properties.
He noted that they will face charges in court once the investigation is completed.
He also revealed in the statement that the Commissioner of Police reaffirms the command’s commitment to maintaining the security and safety of Kano state citizens.

Adding that the CP is adamant that criminals will have nowhere to hide in Kano State.
He however advised residents to continue to pray for the state and the country, and to report crimes to the nearest police station rather than enforcing laws themselves.

He concluded that the leadership will maintain the ongoing “Operation Puff Adder,” which is yielding favorable results, by maintaining strict patrol, raids on criminal hideouts, and black spots around the state.
