The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Borno command has arrested four persons for allegedly attempting to sell dead cow meat to unsuspecting residents of the state.
NSCDC Commandant in the state, Malam Musa Faruk, made this known to newsmen in Maiduguri.
Malam Faruk gave the names of the suspects as Papilo Jayo, Inusa Usman, Inusa Lawan and Abdullahi Illiyasu.
According to him, they were arrested on the 6th of October, 2022, at the Sabon Gari Polo area in Maiduguri, Borno State capital.
”They were nabbed following a tip-off from good citizens on the nefarious act and men of the command quickly swung into action to arrest the suspects,” he said.

The commandant said that the arrest of the suspects had prevented what could have been disastrous.
He said the consumption of the dead cow meat would have constituted a serious health hazards to the good citizens of the state.
“As as soon as investigation into the matter is completed, the suspects would be charged to court.” he said.
