Two people have been killed and many others injured in an attack by a gun trotting Palestinian terrorist outside a busy bar at the heart of Israel’s most cosmopolitan city, Tel Aviv.
Israeli police reported Friday that they had shot and killed a Palestinian terrorist who had killed two people and wounded numerous others in Tel Aviv, sparking an overnight manhunt.

In a statement, police commissioner Yaakov Shabtai said, “We succeeded this morning… in eliminating the terrorist by exchange of fire.”
The attacker opened fire on revelers at a bar on Tel Aviv’s busy Dizengoff Street shortly after 9:00 p.m. (1800 GMT) Thursday, causing chaos as people fled in terror.

The incident was praised by Hamas, the Palestinian Islamist movement that administers the Gaza Strip, and Islamic Jihad.
Raad Hazem, 28, from Jenin in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, was identified as the assailant, according to Israel’s Shin Bet security service.

According to the Shin Bet, special forces discovered the Palestinian terrorist “hiding near a mosque in Jaffa,” alluding to Tel Aviv’s traditionally Arab area.
The security forces’ response was praised by Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.
“We are on high alert in Tel Aviv and throughout the country in case there are any more instances or imitative attacks,” Bennett stated.
“Our fight against homicidal terrorism has been lengthy and difficult. We will triumph.”
