The Nigerian Army Troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN, working in tandem with vigilantes as part of a clearance operation have successfully neutralized notorious bandits and kidnappers at Kan Duniya Village, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Plateau State.

According to a statement released by Major General Bernard Onyeuko, the Director, Defence Media Operations, Defence Headquarters, the operation was conducted on the 28th June, 2022.
Likewise, on the same day, General Onyeuko said troops on fighting patrol sighted 2 suspected kidnappers around Sara High Ground Mangu Local Government Area Plateau State on a motor cycle. He said immediately the criminals saw the troops, they took to their heels leaving their motorcycle behind.

The troop combed the area and found 2 AK-47 rifles, 101 7.62mm special ammunition, 5 magazines, 1 motorcycle, 1 iron digger, and 2 black coats among other things.
Additionally, he said on June 28, 2022, troops in Fanock Village, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State launched a cordon and search operation in the area and found a Toyota Corolla car with registration number ABUJA KUJ 452 AZ with no occupant.

Troops conducted search operations in the surrounding bush and rescued 3 kidnaped civilians; 2 females and a male.
Additionally, on the same day, troops in Kafanchan Town, Jema’a Local Government Area, Kaduna State, arrested 10 suspects in armed robberies.

The arrested suspects include; Manga Ismail, age 22, Idris Haruna (Ban Sambo), age 20, Sani Bali, age 19, Shamsudeen Ladan, age 25, Abdulmajid Yau (Sele), age 22, Abubakar Hassan, age 23, Abbas Aliyu, age 15, Mohammed Umar (Jazuli), age 17, Jonathan Vincent (Bamai), age 19, and Stephen Joseph, age 25.

Items recovered from the criminals include: TV, DVD, gas cookers, Mattrasses, woofer, phones, scissors, among others. They are presently undergoing interrogations.
