On Wednesday, December 8, 2021, Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) troops killed three Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa Province terrorists in an ambush staged near one of the militants’ known crossing sites along the Kwadal-Agapalwa-Amuda axis.

In a statement released by Brigadier General Onyeama Nwachukwu, Director Army Public Relations, the forces, who were on a Long Range Fighting Patrol heading towards Agapalwa and Amuda villages, learned of the terrorists’ rampage and prepared to meet them at the crossing point.

According to the statement, In the ensuing gun duel, sector 1 operation Hadin Kai troops opened fire on the terrorists, killing as many as they could.
The troops recovered one General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), three Hand Grenades, 62 links of 7.62mm ammunition, one motorcycle, and three bicycles from the terrorists after gallantly destroying them.
Troops are currently utilizing the situation to clear the area of any fugitives.
Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya, the Chief of Army Staff, praised the troops’ vigilance and valor. He’s also ordered them to step up their offensive operations in order to annihilate the terrorists even more.
