According to reports, Oluwagbemiga Shogbola, a 30-year-old man, is said to have stabbed his friend Victor Olabiyo to death in the Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State over the sum of $150 (N61,950) they both earned from a business deal.
The PUNCH METRO in a news report revealed that Oluwagbemiga Shogbola, who’s also known as Oja or Federal, accused the victim of defrauding him and pocketing all of the money.

It was learnt that the disagreement between the two friends devolved into a brawl, and some of their friends sought to intervene, but to no avail.
Shogbola, on the other hand, was said to have posted a picture of Olabiyo on his WhatsApp status around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, with the hashtag ‘RIP.’
The suspect, who is presently being held at the state police command headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, allegedly stabbed the victim to death around 11 p.m. on the same day.
Onyemaechi Onwuzuribe, one of the deceased’s friends, said Oluwagbemiga Shogbola was chased as he sought to flee the scene on a motorcycle. However Okada riders declined his plea for a ride after seeing his bloodstained clothes.

The culprit is said to have ran into the Ilishan-Remo Police Station and reported himself to the police.
“Federal was bloodied, and I saw him running away, but I had no idea he had stabbed Victor (Olabiyo),” Onwuzuribe claimed.
I knew they had fought earlier that morning over $150, and I sensed that he may have done something wrong when I saw him running.
“As I grabbed him, I noticed people running after him, crying that he had stabbed Victor to death.” That’s when I and others attempted to apprehend him, but he eluded us and fled to the police. The boys would have lynched him if they had captured him.”
Adebowale Opasanya, the victim’s brother, told our correspondent that his brother was a professional fashion designer.
He described the occurrence as startling because the two of them were very close and always visiting each other.

“Victor’s death came as a complete shock to us. I’m perplexed that his friend, Federal, was the one who murdered him for the meager sum of $150. I had cautioned him about some of his associates, but I never expected Federal to go to such lengths.
“We heard that Federal fled to Ilishan from Ifo because of something similar; he was also accused of killing in that area,” he added.
On Wednesday, journalists reportedly went to the Ilishan-Remo Police Station and saw a crowd demanding that the police give up the culprit to jungle justice.
While asking residents to return home, Divisional Police Officer SP Kunle Olaitan said the police were investigating the matter.
The deceased’s remains were reportedly deposited in Sagamu’s Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the occurrence.
He said the suspect had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department’s Homicide Section in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
