NSCDC arrests father, grandfather for having carnal knowledge of daughter/granddaughter.

According to a news report by The Punch, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Chapter, have arrested and detained at least two persons, a father and a grandpa, for allegedly defiling their 13-year-old daughter/granddaughter.

The suspects were detained on Friday, following the girl’s confession. This was revealed in a statement released by the command’s Spokesperson, Mr Adigun Daniel in Osogbo on Tuesday.

The offenders, Adebayo Lukman and his father, the elder Lukman, were arrested on Friday, November 26, 2021, as a result of a tip-off received by the corps from an informant who revealed that the girl had revealed to her that her father and grandfather had been having carnal knowledge of her.

Following an investigation, it was discovered that indeed Adebayo had been having carnal knowledge of the victim two years prior to this time.

The 13 year old revealed that her parents had divorced, and as a result she had to live with her maternal grandmother.

She stated that she had been living with her maternal grandmother since she was three years old, but that her father forcefully took her from the grandma’s place.

She also revealed that she began staying with her paternal grandfather when she was five years old, and that he also began to have carnal knowledge of her.

Adebayo Lukman, the girl’s father, and his father, the elder Lukman, have both denied having carnal knowledge of the girl.

In the meantime, according to the report by the Punch, the NSCDC has turned the girl over to the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, pending the outcome of the investigation.
