Two Nigerian soldiers have been reportedly arrested by the Police in Borno State for alleged armed robbery and culpable homicide.
The criminals robbed a Point of Sale (POS) agent, Yusuf Usman, according to the state’s Commissioner of Police, Abdu Umar, who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria in Maiduguri on Wednesday.

According to Umar, during the robbery on February 6 at GSM Market in Bulumkutu, the criminals shot and killed one man while injuring another.

He said that three of the suspects – Mustapha Lawan, alias Bakura Dantawaye, Abubakar Mohammed, nicknamed Bro Shagi, and Umar Ibrahim – were initially apprehended by the Command’s operatives.
He claimed the trio confessed to the crime and listed two more gang members, soldiers lgogo Michael and Jibrin Adamu, as accomplices.
The two troops were pursued by the police and captured on Sunday, according to Umar, who added that they admitted to the crime.
“The military authority court-martialed them (two soldiers) before transferring them to the command for further inquiry,” he said.
