Officers of the Nigerian Police Force in Zamfara parades a notorious bandit leader.

According to reports he was arrested on the 1st of October 2021. The Bandit leader is one of the commanders of Turji Kachalla in Zamfara State. A state that has struggled to contain the excesses of the bandits over the years.

Zamfara Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Elkanah, disclosed this while parading the alleged kingpin alongside 21 other suspected bandits and their collaborators on Saturday in Gusau.

“On October 1, 2021, the Nigerian Police force Tactical Operatives on Anti-Banditry Operation around Gummi axis acted on intelligence report, stormed Gidan Bita, Malakar and Kagara forest, and arrested one notorious bandit commander, Bello Rugga.

According to reports emanating from the Nigerian media space, a Nigerian Police force tactical team that has been trying to curtail the excesses of Notorious Bandits in Zamfara State invaded an area known as Gummi axis. Though they acted based on an intel report they received.

During the tactical operation at several locations namely, Gidan Bita, Malakar and Kagara forest, they arrested one notorious bandits commander identified as Bello Rugga. He was arrested alongside 20 others including an informant according to reports. 5 bandits were also reportedly killed during the raid.

Bello Ruga, the notorious bandit leader has being on the wanted list of the Nigerian Police for long. He has killed many of his victims and collected millions in ran some payments.

He’s currently cooling off in the custody of the Nigerian police in Zamfara State.
