Nigerian Army Troops Rescue Woman Who Has Been Held In Boko Haram Captivity Since 2014 (Photos)

The Nigerian Army Troops have rescued a woman who has been held hostage by Islamist militant sect, Boko Haram, since 2014.

This was revealed in a series of tweets by Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region.

According to Zagazola, the woman was rescued by Nigerian Army troops during operations to rid the Bama area of Borno State of terrorists. He also revealed that she was rescued alongside 42 other kidnapped victims, which included women, children and one elderly.

According to him, the woman, Mrs Shetu Bamai Sangayama was kidnapped alongside her 4 children in 2014.

Two years after, precisely in 2016, her husband, Mr Bamai Sangayama took to Facebook to announce to the world about his missing wife and children, praying and hoping for their miraculous and safe return.

Luckily, the woman was rescued from the hands of her abductors by gallant troops of the Nigerian Army in April 2022.

“Mr Bamai Shangayama had 2016 solicited for prayers over his missing wife and children saying they were abducted two years ago by Boko Haram on his Facebook page.”

“Sad… Shetu Bamai Sangayama has been identified by her family members after she was rescued by the Nigerian Army troops in Bama from Boko Haram enclaves.

“She was abducted in Sept 2014 with her 4 children comprising of  3 female 1 male.”

“This was the lovely photos of Shetu Sangayama and her kids shortly before their Abduction.”

The rescue operation was reportedly carried out by troops of 202 Battalion of the Nigerian Army.

Troops also killed and captured several Boko Haram terrorists during the clearance operations.
