What Is The Nigerian Air Force Direct Short Service Commission?
The Nigerian Air Force Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) is a 6 months intensive military training specially designed for University and or Polythecnic graduates drawn from different disciplinary backgrounds, to serve as officers in the non combat services of the Air Force.

The Nigerian Air Force Direct Short Service is open to civilians and serving military personnel alike. After 6 months of intensive training, candidates who succeed will be commissioned and placed on the Flying Officer Rank.
Entry Requirements For Joining The Nigerian Air Force Direct Short Service
The entry requirements for joining the Nigerian Air Force Direct Short Service can be seen below;
1- You have to be a Nigerian.
2- The stipulated ages for both male and female applicants is between 22 and 35 years. This is applicable to both civilians and serving personnel whom are willing to enlist.
3- You have to be in good medical and physical conditions.
4- In height, as a male applicant, you should not measure less than 1.66m tall, while female applicants should measure not less than 1.63m tall.

5- Perish the idea of applying for the Nigerian Air Force DSSC if you have ever been convicted by a law court.
6- The minimum requirements for both HND and Bsc holders from recognized Polythecnics and Universities are Lower Credits and Second Class Lower Division respectively.
7- Except you are serving in the Nigerian Armed Forces, applicants must have completed the compulsory one year NYSC program. If not, you’ll have to present an exemption certificate.
8- You must have a valid birth certicate or a valid age declaration memo endorsed by the necessary bodies.
9- You must have a valid state and local government of origin certificate.
10- Lastly, you must present at least 2 recognizable referees that will attest to the your character and integrity.
