The Niger State Police Command have arrested a suspect over alleged supplies of items comprising foodstuffs, energy drinks, beverages and soft drinks to various bandits’ camps across the bushes in the state.
In a press release, the Niger State Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), CSP Wasiu A Abiodun, said the Command recorded the achievement following use of credible information emanating from the concerned communities who have been monitoring the suspect.

The PPRO said, after hours of monitoring and observation, police operatives from the Lapai Division and vigilante members were dispatched to the area. The team arrested one Umar Dauda aged 20yrs ‘m’ of Fulani camp, Kapako village via Lapai, in possession of the following items;
– Four (4) bottles of fearless energy drinks
-Six (6) loaves of bread
-A total of five (5) Maltina drinks
-Four (4) wraps of dried leaves, maybe Indian hemp
– raw rice and beans
– and Ninety thousand naira cash.
During interrogation, the suspect admitted to being a food supplier to bandits, and that the hoodlums typically come to his camp in the same village to collect the food.
He further said that this is the fourth time is supplying such items before being caught.
In the process of further investigation, the suspect’s home was searched and a locally fabricated revolver gun was recovered in his camp. He claimed the ownership of the gun and said that he bought it at the rate of sixty-five thousand naira from a gun fabricator within the same village for his personal protection.
According to the report, efforts are also being made to apprehend the gun maker.
