The Niger Police Command have announced the arrest two (2) alleged killers of one Hassan Shehu.
The arrest of the two suspects was announced in a statement released by DSP Wasiu Abiodun, Niger police public relations officer.

According to the statement, a case of culpable homicide was reported in the Bosso Division, on 12/04/2022 at about 5 pm, in which one late Hassan Shehu, a businessman from Kure Market, Minna, was invited to the Tudun-fulani area of Bosso by one Bashir Ibrahim for a supposedly business transaction.

Unfortunately, the victim was allegedly stabbed to death in an apartment by the culprits, who thereafter fled the scene with the victim’s Peugeot 206 automobile and about two million naira cash which was in the vehicle.
Upon the receipt of this unfortunate incident, the Niger Police Command sprung into action and commenced an in-depth technical investigation.

After a painstaking investigation and technical intelligence analysis, on April 19, 2022, Police agents attached to the Command’s Intelligence Unit arrested the two suspects namely:- Bashir Ibrahim, 25 years old, and Aliyu Ibrahim, 22 years old, both of whom are brothers from Tundun-Fulani Area, Bosso.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime, saying that they conspired with one Suleiman Mahmud, 29, of the same address, who is currently at large, to bind the victim and dispossess him of the money in his car.
However, when the deceased entered the house, he struggled with the said Suleiman, and Aliyu stabbed the victim in the chest, leaving him to bleed to death.
Bashir, who was the deceased’s best man at his wedding last year, confessed to fleeing the scene with the victim’s vehicle, which had about two million naira, and then travelled to Kano to buy chemicals for washing gold objects using the deceased’s money.

The suspects were arrested in a hotel along Minna’s Western Bye-Pass, while Abdullahi Garba, 22, of Tunga-Mallam, Paikoro LGA, was also arrested for buying the victim’s phone from Aliyu for three thousand naira and exchanging it for another phone.
Meanwhile, Bashir was found with five hundred and twenty-four thousand naira, two bottles of suspected chemical substances that he claimed to have purchased from Kano for seven hundred thousand naira, and the abovementioned car.
The case is still being investigated, and efforts to apprehend Suleiman Mahmud are ongoing.
The suspects, according to the statement, will be arraigned in court for criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, and receiving stolen property as soon as the investigation is completed.
