While on her way to her matrimonial home in Niger State, a newlywed bride and some members of her family have been reportedly abducted by bandits.

Bandits attacked the victim’s family members as they were transporting her from Allawa Community in Shiroro Local Government Area to her matrimonial house in Pandogari town, Rafi Local Government Area, according to Daily Trust.
The attackers were alleged to have ambushed them while escorting the newlywed bride to her husband’s house. They then abducted the bride and other passengers from the truck transporting them.

The unfortunate incident took place on Friday, according to Jibrin Abdullahi Allawa, President of the Lakpma Youth Assembly.
According to a source, the bandits attacked Gyaramiya hamlet, still in Shiroro, abducted several people and rustled a huge number of cattles.
The development came just days after the government of Niger State declared victory over the bandits.
DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the Public Relations Officer for the Niger State Police Command, could not be reached via phone.
This isn’t the first time bandits have targeted brides in their attacks.
Two newlywed brides were kidnapped in Niger State’s Lavun Local Government Area last week.
