An NDLEA operation have led to the arrest of 6 persons in an Abuja garden over drug cookies, noodles. While other operations led to the interception of UK, Saudi-bound cocaine concealed in synthetic hair.
This was revealed in a statement released by Femi Babfemi, the director, media and advocacy, NDLEA Abuja headquarters.
NDLEA Operatives allegedly raided a leisure centre in Abuja known as ‘the garden’ and detained six people for peddling drug cookies and noodles.
Following solid intelligence work, operatives of the NDLEA stormed the Garden outside Shoprite in Wuse Zone 5, where they apprehended one Rachael Famiyesun, 29, a drug cookie seller, and her salesgirl, Stella Sunday, 20.
Aside from drug cookies, they were also caught selling bottles of Zobo, a black currant drink made with cannabis.
Moses Obi, 30, and his salesgirl, Aisha Abdulrahman, 19, were also arrested in the garden for selling indomie noodles that had been laced with cannabis.
A bartender, Ahonye Jonah, 31, who works for the garden’s owner, was also arrested, as was one of their customers, Ngozi Justina Emelogu, 38, during the raid on Wednesday, January 19th.
Officers from the Agency’s FCT command raided the Zuba Yam Market two days earlier, arresting a drug dealer, Haruna Hassan, with 19.3 kg of cannabis.

Meanwhile, narcotic officers attached to two major courier companies in Lagos foiled drug traffickers’ attempts to export 1.53 kilograms of cocaine hidden inside hair cream to London, and another 880 grams of cocaine hidden inside synthetic hair to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as well as 3 grams of cocaine and 5 grams of cannabis to Cyprus packed inside locally made shoes.
On Tuesday, January 18th, agents in Edo state seized a Toyota Camry automobile with the registration number FKJ 897 DG (LAGOS) laden with 360.4kg Cannabis sativa on its way to Abuja and detained the driver, Nurudeen Subaru, 42, in Auchi, Etsako West.
The following day, Edo command officers removed 111kg of cannabis from a bush in Iruekpen, Esan West LGA, and recovered 276 compressed blocks of the same substance weighing 248.4kg from Austin Okongwu (a.k.a. Igwe), 45, in Agenebode, Etsako East, while transporting the drug in a Lexus saloon car with registration number ABC 583 MJ (ABUJA).
A search on a drug joint in the Edo state capital, Benin, on Wednesday 19th January, resulted in the arrest of three drug dealers: Kelly Ogbebor, 38; Daniel Oviawe, 35; and Kelly Kenmakonam, 29, with various quantities of cocaine and heroin recovered.
Ifeoma Godwin Sade, 29, the wife of a drug dealer, Ifeanyi Onyeasi, 34, attempted to swallow 12 grams of cocaine found in their house at Agingi, Rukuba road, Jos, during an NDLEA operation on Sunday 16th January.
The attempt was thwarted by agents who removed the substance from her neck. A monetary exhibit worth two hundred and thirty-four thousand six hundred and fifty naira was also retrieved from them (N234, 650).
On Wednesday 19th January, officers from the Plateau state command halted a commercial bus carrying Aliyu Abdullahi and Ishaya Emmanuel from Lagos to Yola, Adamawa state, and seized various quantities of cannabis, methamphetamine, and tramadol from the two suspects.
On Wednesday, January 19th, the long arm of the law finally nabbed a known drug dealer, Adamu Musa, who had been on the run for nine months in Adamawa state.
Mrs. Hannatu Sini, his 31-year-old elder sister, was detained on April 16, 2021, in Gombi, Adamawa, with 14.400kg of cannabis sativa and acknowledged to keeping the exhibit for her younger brother, Adamu Musa, who was subsequently placed on the command’s wanted list.
Mrs. Modinat Lawal, an ex-convict, was caught in Kano on Wednesday, January 19th, with 22kg of cannabis sativa she imported into Nigeria from Benin Republic. She had been arrested, prosecuted, and imprisoned before for the same offense. The trafficker, who was born in Ogun State, said her name was Bola at the time.
While applauding the arrests made by policemen and men from the FCT, Edo, Plateau, Adamawa, Kano, and the Directorate of Investigation and General Investigations.
