The Police in Lagos have arrested seven persons over the death of a Nigerian police officer in Lagos.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin made the announcement on Friday in Lagos.
The deceased police officer, Sgt. Edison Fulman, attached to Zone 2 Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos.

According to Hundeyin, operations of the Ilemba Hausa Police Division led to the arrest of seven armed robbery/murder suspects and recovery of a silver-colored Sienna bus with registration number LSR 509 HB, a locally made double barrel pistol, and four live cartridges at Mojirade Street, Shibiri, Lagos, on the 22nd of April, 2022.

‘The suspects were immediately arrested following a tip-off from Lagos residents to the Ilemba Hausa Divisional Police Officer, who led his men to the criminal hideouts, where seven members of the gang were arrested while others fled.
The arrested suspects are; Esther Newman, Joel Anaba, Ruben Ude, Chinedu Emenike, Abuchi Peter, Chima Simon, and James John.
One locally produced double barrel pistol, four live cartridges, one machete, one dagger, two screwdrivers, 12 mobile phones, one access bank ATM card with the name Newton Newman, some substances suspected to be Indian Hemp, and one dead snail were among the items found in the Sienna bus.
‘Commissioner of Police, Mr Abiodun Alabi, has directed that the suspects and evidence be brought to Command Headquarters for further investigation and ensure the arrest of other members of the gang,’ said the statement.
