The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) of Borno State have reportedly rescued a female ABU Student identified as Becky Inuwa, who has been held hostage by Islamist militant sect, Boko Haram, since 2020.

Becky was allegedly rescued along with 5 other women in April, 2022, by the MNJTF during a gun battle with their captors in the Lake Chad region.

Although the woman, identified as Mrs Shetu Bamai Sangayama, was kidnapped alongwith 4 of her children in 2014, the Army were only able to rescue 2 of them, with the remaining two still held captive by the Islamic militants.
