Police carried out a drugs bust at a man’s shop in Bangi, Mariga local government area of Niger State, however, the man was armed and he brandished a gun at officers.
Chinedu Makata aged 34, of Enugu State who resides in Bangi, Mariga LGA, was arrested after he brandished a locally made gun at police officers during a drugs bust.

According to a statement by DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the Polic public relations officer of Niger State, the raid happened in Bangi, Mariga LGA on November 11, 2022.

Abiodun said Police Operatives attached to Bangi Division were able to disarm the drug dealer and arrest him.
He said; “during the raid, forty-seven (47) wraps of suspected Indian-hemp and some other suspected hard drugs were recovered from the shop.
“In the process of effecting the arrest of the said shop owner, he pulled out a locally made gun and threatened to shoot the Police Operatives.
“However, he was later disarmed and arrested by the Police team,” he said.
Abiodun said the suspect has been arrainged in court for prosecution.
