A yet-to-be identified man has been confirmed dead after he was electrocuted on Monday afternoon in what was described as a failed attempt to steal electrical cables from a transformer in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
Some residents said the cable thief unexpectedly met his untimely death when Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) suddenly restored power in the area around.
A social media user who posted the photos of the suspect online wrote;
“This suspect was electrocuted on Monday afternoon, August 15, while allegedly trying to steal cables from a transformer at Kolade Estate in Ogo Oluwa area of Osogbo.”
