Operatives of Ogun So-Safe Corps on Wednesday arrested a middle aged man accused of allegedly stealing electrical cable wires of unknown value from the Deeper Life Bible Church Headquarters in Ogun State.
It is alleged that while the Ogun So-Safe Corps operatives from Lotto division were on routine patrol of the axis, they intercepted a middle aged man identified as Omotayo Oni at about 5:30 am on Wednesday morning.
The So-Safe Corps spokesman, Moruf Yusuf, said Oni attempted to flee when the security operatives asked him where he got the electrical cable wires in his hands, but he was reportedly chased and caught by men of the state government-owned security outfit.

Yusuf said the suspected thief was interrogated without torture, saying he “confessed to having stolen the cables around the spot he was nabbed.”
According to him, “it took the team hours to get to the actual place where the cables were stolen as he took them to so many wrong locations before he opened up and mentioned that the crime was perpetrated in Deeper Life Church, State Headquarters.”
Yusuf revealed that Soji Ganzallo, the Corps Commander, had given the squad the go-ahead to visit the mentioned church as part of efforts to establish where the cables were actually stolen from.
“At the church, the Chief Security Officer and others were surprised and asked him how he managed to escape being caught with the formidable security network of the church,” it was said.
The suspect and the evidence had already been taken to the Redeemed divisional headquarters police for further investigation and possibly legal action.
