Zagazola (@ZagazOlaMakama on Twitter), a security analyst and counterinsurgency expert in the Lake Chad region has paid tribute to a gallant officer of the Nigerian Army identified as Lt Col Manga.
In a series of tweets, Zagazola described Lt Col Manga as a highly disciplined, committed and diligent commander who continually displays extraordinary courage in the face of danger.
He further noted that his approach of leading from the front has endeared him to his troops, who are always eager to follow him into combat.

He also took part in Operation Fireball (October 2020), and he is now heading a valiant unit of Special Forces battling ISWAP militants in Borno’s northwestern region as part of JTF Op Hadin Kai North East.
Manga has been described as a Nigerian patriot who is dedicated to defending his homeland against ruthless enemies, even at the expense of his own life.
His numerous successful operations, which has led to the elimination of an unknown number of terrorists and the demolition of their sanctuaries and strongholds, can never be discounted or lessened, even if they go unnoticed in Nigerian newspapers or on television.
Lt Col I.A Manga combines both kinetic and non-kinetic efforts to win his battles as a thoroughbred professional military commander with a good understanding of the mechanics of asymmetric warfare, the type he engaged in the north east.
He has also, on many occasions, assisted in the restoration (rebuilding) of commuter roads by helping to refill potholes on the roads.
After assisting in filling potholes, Insurgents were deterred from placing mines along the 22-kilometer road from Kalari to Konduga to Aulari areas of Borno State.
He also taught IDPs in one of Konduga’s camps and offered N5,000 allowances to 40 members of the CJTF to enable them to function effectively in the area.
