The Executive Chairman of Adavi Local Government, Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami has adopted a new born baby abandoned in a polythene bag at ECSSO in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The SA Media and Publicity, Adavi Local Government Area, Kogi State, Engr. M. Jamiu Habeeb, said in a statement that the baby boy was presented to the council chairman this morning by the community leader, alongside with Local Government APC Party Chairman, Hon. Barnabas Oyibo.
According to Jamiu, the chairman adopted the child and handed him over to one of the nurses who volunteered to take care of the baby.

He said the council boss also donated some amount of money for the baby’s upkeep.
The council boss in his words, acknowledged that children are blessings from God, and it’s a bad attitude to bring a child into the world just to be dumped in the street.
“We should be available to cater to the needs of our kids before bringing them into the world. They deserve all the necessary care from us as a parent.
“Let me commend the neighborhood and the good samaritan for saving this innocent child’s life and bringing him to my notice. May God Almighty will reward everyone who has contributed in one way or the other to protect the child”, the council boss concluded.
