In Katsina police say they repelled a terrorist attack on Barawa community in Batagarawa Local Government Area, capturing six of the terrorists’ operational motorcycles in the process.
According to Superintendent Gambo Isah, the Katsina police spokesman, the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. when a distress call was received.

He went on to say that a combined police and military team was immediately drafted to the area.
They battled the militants in a fierce gun battle and defeated them.

According to Isah, the terrorists abandoned their heinous mission and fled the scene due to the joint team’s operational strategy and heroism.
The squad recovered and burned 5 terrorists’ working motorcycles while examining the scene, according to the police spokeswoman.
He went on to say that another of the terrorists’ motorcycles was found abandoned in Barawa Forest by the Batagarawa Divisional Police Officer.
Many of the terrorists escaped the scene with gunshot wounds, according to Isah, who advised community members to report anyone spotted with a suspicious injury to the nearest security formation.
Meanwhile, Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Idris Dabban, has lauded and applauded the personnel’s efforts in repelling terrorists, encouraging members of the public to continue to cooperate with security services in the state’s ongoing war on terrorism.
