Police in Kaduna State has reportedly killed four (4) bandits who have been terrorizing people of Saminaka in the state’s Lere Local Government Area.
Weapons recovered from the bandits are AK47 and Ak49 Rifles loaded with live ammo, as well as an operating vehicle utilized by the bandits to carry out their nefarious acts.
According to the spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Mohammed Jalige, operatives of the Special Tactical Squad Force Headquarters, Abuja (STS) in conjunction with Operation Yaki Kaduna intercepted the bandits along the Saminaka – Jos expressway.

They were reportedly intercepted in a Sharon vehicle, which is blue in color and was driven by James Dawi, 31, of Vom town, Jos South LGA Plateau State.

According to the police spokesman, the suspected bandits instantly engaged the operatives in a gun duel after detecting an unavoidable danger on their way to transfer some dangerous weapons to their colleagues.
However, the operatives were able to terminally injure four of the bandits with tactical accuracy, and they were later pronounced dead by a medical doctor at the hospital where they were taken to.

The remaining bandits were forced to flee into the forest with bullet wounds after the encounter that for lasted nearly 30 minutes due to the police’s firepower.
The bandits were found with an Ak49 rifle and AK47 rifles loaded with live ammo, one empty magazine, 134 rounds of various calibers of live ammunition, and an operating motor vehicle, while a female accomplice was also arrested by the agents during the encounter.

According to the police spokesman, the female accomplice confessed to supplying rifles and ammunition to bandits in Kaduna State.
He did, however, say that a discreet investigation into the case has been launched with the goal of uncovering the identities of other criminal organizations and locating the source of the lethal weapons in order to prevent future incidents.
Meanwhile, Kaduna state Commissioner of Police, Kaduna, Yekini Ayoku, has praised his men’s successful operation, while also urging the public to continue to provide useful information about various criminal activities, as police under his command continue to treat such information with dispatch and absolute confidentiality.
