No fewer than eight passengers have been confirmed dead while others have been abducted by terrorists in the Kaduna Abuja Train Attack on Monday night.

According to the Kaduna state government, security agencies have reported that eight bodies were recovered and 26 persons were injured during the attack.

Investigations are still ongoing to ascertain the status of the passengers who were on board the train and remain unaccounted for at the time of this update, according to the state government.

KDSG also revealed in a press statement that search operations are also being sustained.

1- Barrister Musa Lawal Ozigi (The Trade Union Congress,TUC, Secretary General)

Barrister Musa Lawal Ozigi was reportedly killed by the bandits during the Kaduna Abuja train attack.

According to reports, the TUC was supposed to inaugurate its North West Political Commission this week. Ozigi was probably travelling for the event.

2- Doctor Megafu Chinelo

Doctor Megafu Chinelo, a young medical doctor was also reportedly killed on Monday in the Kaduna Abuja train attack.

The dentist was one of around 970 passengers on board the train when it was attacked by terrorists.

Chinelo went on Twitter shortly after the incident, at 9:43 p.m., to ask Nigerians to pray for her.

“I’m in the train. I have been shot please pray for me,” she had tweeted.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, a friend of the deceased said, “Dr Chinelo was making an honest living, she was working at St Gerald’s hospital in Kaduna, she wanted more for herself and processed her papers to leave this hell-hole.

“She resigned last month to leave the country this Friday then this happened. Nigeria why???”

3- Abdu Isa Kofa Mata (Director with the National Board for Technical Education)

A Director with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Abdu Isa Kofa Mata, was also killed during the terrorist attack on Abuja-Kaduna train.

According to a family source, who confirmed the development, said they are awaiting the arrival of the 55-year-old corpse from Kaduna. He added that the father of five will be buried in Kano by 4.00pm on Tuesday.

4- Comrade Akinsola Akinwunmi (TUC chairman, Kwara state)

The TUC Chairman in Kwara, Comrade Akinsola Akinwunmi, was also reported killed during the attack.

5- Barrister Tibileri Mosugu

Also confirmed is the death of the son of a traditional ruler, Tibileri Mosugu, a lawyer. He is said to be the son of Samuel Mosugu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and Otaro Igoli Udeji III, of Osobane, Ogori.

Loretta and Abdul, two cleaners and workers have been confirmed dead during the Kaduna Abuja train attack according to SaharaReporters.

Some security officers and passengers have also been confirmed deceased, but their names have yet to be disclosed, according to SaharaReporters.
