During clearance operations on the outskirts of Lake Chad, the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) killed scores of Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) insurgents, including a key commander Habu Mukhtadah.
According to ZagazolaMakama, a counter-insurgency expert in Lake Chad, an intelligence officer revealed that the insurgents were nutrialized at Tumbun Dilla, Tumbum Jamina, and Tumbun Rago at the borders of Kukawa Local Government Area between the 27th and 28th of May, 2022.

According to the source, the Army’s 198 Special Forces troops and Chadian Forces of the Multi National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) made their first contact with the terrorists at Tumbum Dilla.
After encountering the terrorists, the troops engaged them in a quick fire for fire battle that resulted in the nutrialisation of some of the insurgents while many others escaped with bullet wounds.

The troops continued on to Tumbum Tumbun Rago and Tumbun Fulani, where they fought the terrorists in another battle, forcing them to flee and abandoning a three-year-old boy, who was rescued by our troops.

Unfortunately, one Babagana Modu, a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force, was killed by ISWAP terrorists who shot him from a distance.
