On Tuesday, the Osun State Police Command announced that a 28-year-old hunter, Jimoh Sulaimon, had been arrested for allegedly shooting dead a 78-year-old preacher, Yusuf Adegun.
Yemisi Opalola, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Osun Police Command in Osogbo, told reporters that Adegun, who was the Chief Imam of Alaguntan village till his death, was shot dead by a suspect who lived in the same community.

After the suspect was arrested, Opalola said he confessed to the crime, stating he was on a hunting expedition and aimed his dane gun at an antelope, which shockingly changed into a human after he fired the shot.

“The suspect was apprehended and confessed to the crime, saying he was on a hunting trip when he saw an antelope in the bush and shot it with his dane rifle,” she said.
“When he went to pick up the antelope, he was surprised to see Baba Imam on the ground,” he claimed.
The suspect will be charged to court after the completion of the investigation.”
