The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA officers have arrested a notorious drug dealer, Micha Godwin, at Nukai market, along the Jalingo-Wukari road in Taraba state.
During the raid, NDLEA officers from the anti-narcotic division were attacked and at least seven of them were injured, as well as one of their vehicles damaged.
In a statement released by Femi Babafemi, Director Media And Advocacy, NDLEA HQ, Abuja, the officers were able to arrest their target, recovered some illegal drugs from him, and then retreated to transport the wounded officers to the hospital for treatment despite the attack.

Babafemi revealed that while acting on credible intelligence, operatives stormed the market at around 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8th, to arrest the drug dealer and evacuate illicit substances from his warehouse.

However, miscreants from the community mobilized soon after Micha’s arrest, attacking officers and vehicles with lethal weapons.

The operatives were rescued from the scene of the attack by a reinforcement team from the Agency’s state command and other security agencies.
In custody, the drug dealer expressed his displeasure with the events of today, saying, “This is the second time I’ve been arrested and brought here, but the previous arrest was not like this.” I’m not sure who invited the boys that attacked the cops from the NDLEA.
