A speeding SUV rams into a crowd during a Christmas holiday parade in downtown Waukesha, Wisconsin, on Sunday afternoon, killing at least five people and injuring more than 40, according to Reuters.
At least 28 persons were being treated for various degrees of injury at area hospitals as a result of the incident, with 15 taken to Children’s Wisconsin in Milwaukee and 13 to Aurora Medical Center in Summit. Three of the victims, according to Aurora Medical Center, were in critical condition.

The Police Chief in Waukesha, Dan Thompson revealed to the press that a suspect has be held for questioning and the vehicle used for the dastardly act had being recovered.
It was unclear whether the incident has anything to do with an act of terrorism, but Thompson noted that there was no further risk and that a previous shelter-in-place order in the 72,000-person town had been withdrawn.
The video above shows a red sport utility vehicle racing through the parade at high speed, appearing to run over more than a dozen people before crowds rushed to help.
A cop fired bullets at the vehicle, according to Thompson, in an attempt to stop the mayhem. On social media, another video appeared to show police shooting on the truck as it slammed through street barriers. Thompson stated that, contrary to early accounts, police did not believe shots were fired from the vehicle.
Paramedics, police, and family members took those hit by the SUV to surrounding hospitals, he added. The city stated on Twitter that the figures of casualties may increase as additional individuals are still being taken to the surrounding hospitals.
