According to the report, the bandits, who were led by one Katare stormed the community and operated easily without any challenge from the security operativesfor almost 2 hours.
Zamfara is one of the states rocked by insecurity in recent months with cases of banditry and kidnap for ransom rampant.

The state government have tried on countless occasions to open up dialogue with the bandits in order to stem the violence but all to no avail.
However, following last month’s attack, the State Governor, Bello Mohammed Matawalle gave the locals the go-ahead to defend themselves against the bandits’ attack.
The Governor explained that running away frоm the bandits would not solve the problem, advising the locals to engage the bandits on fire for fire operations.
