The Ogun State Police Command is reportedly investigating one Akinyemi Thomas, a 38-year-old fake police inspector that was recently arrested.
On February 17th, 2022, Akinyemi Thomas was arrested for impersonating a police officer.

The man was apprehended while police officers from Sagamu divisional headquarters were patrolling their area with DPO CSP Godwin Idehai when they spotted him in full police camouflage gear beneath the bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrest, said the suspect, Akinyemi Thomas’s behavior attracted the officers’ interest, and they stopped to interview him.
The fake police inspector took to his heels as soon as the patrol vehicle stopped. After which he was pursued and caught.”
During interrogation, he admitted to being a former police officer who was still using his uniform to extort unsuspecting members of the public.”
“Along with the outfit, a police warrant card was recovered from him.
Meanwhile, CP Lanre Bankole, the commissioner of police, has ordered a complete investigation into the suspect’s activities with the goal of charging him in court as soon as possible.
