The EFCC have announced the arrest of a lawyer and six others after they allegedly stole over N13m from a deceased police officer.
According to a press release by the Efcc, the arrested lawyer, Barrister Samuel Ebitu, along with six other suspects, have been charged to court for stealing the total sum of N13,171,415.25 from the account of the deceased police officer.

The suspects were charged with two counts of conspiracy, forgery, and acquiring by false pretense before Justice Agatha Okeke of the Federal High Court in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.
The 6 other suspects are; Etimbuk Godwin Edet, Michael Jeremiah Isong, Sunny Isong, Godwin Ekanem, Emmanuel Jackson Isong, and Harrison Ofuomah Emamoke.
Godwin Edet Umoren, the widow of a late Chief Superintendent of Police, filed a complaint against the defendants for allegedly diverting the funds from her late husband’s account.
