Don’t date a female soldier if….
When you’re thinking about dating a female soldier, there’s a bit more to think about. That’s because there’s so much outside of your control. From little, annoying things like restricted communications during certain times to big, overwhelming things like deployments across the nation, military life can throw a lot at a new relationship.
That being said, Here Are 5 things to consider before jumping into a relationship with a female soldier;
1- Don’t date her if you already know you can’t be faithful.
If you are a serial cheater, don’t ever try to date a female soldier. If you cheat on her and you get caught, you will be seriously dealt with. We all know how soldiers can react when angry, so you don’t need anyone to tell you that you need to be faithful in your relationship with her.
2- Don’t date her if you cannot handle stress.
While you don’t serve in the military, you care for someone that does. You may receive phone calls where you hear bombs or guns in the background. Then you may not hear from them for days or weeks or months. On top of that, you have to manage things on the homefront by yourself. Be sure you are able to handle this kind of stress or at least know the resources and support at your disposal.

3- Don’t date her if you cannot handle distant relationship.
If you are someone that needs constant attention and affection, know that a soldier may not be able to give that to you. A friend of mine married his secondary school sweetheart after she joined the military some years ago. Unfortunately, the marriage ended because they could not handle the distance that came along with military deployments.
4- Don’t date her if you’re not willing to move.
If you’re looking for a life partner in the military, you’ve got to be willing to give up ties to a specific location. This could mean giving up your career and being away from family. Some soldiers move every three years. Are you willing to live like a nomad?
5- Don’t Date her if you can’t trust her.
Your soldier girlfriend can be deployed to remote locations and work long hours with members of the opposite sex. You’ll have a hard time trusting your significant other if you’re naturally jealous. So If you have trust issues, or believe that “everyone cheats” during deployment, then you should not venture into a relationship with a military woman. If you can’t trust her then you’ll keep having sleepless nights thinking of what could be going on wherever she is.
