Gallant officers of the Nigerian Customs Intercepts Container Loaded with thousands of sophisticated guns.
On the 17th of December 2021, Tincan Island Command of the Nigeria Customs Service reportedly intercepted a 1 by 40ft Container containing suspected guns and ammunition.
Following a statement by the Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Customs, Uche Ejesieme, Tincan Island Command agents discovered the alleged firearms during a normal physical check at the Tict Terminal.

“As a result, and in accordance with our regular operating procedure, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Musa Abdullahi, has written to the Tict Terminal Operators demanding that the aforementioned container be immediately transported to the Command’s Enforcement Unit for a complete re-examination.” He said.
He further added that the results of the re-examination, as well as any other pertinent information, will be forwarded to the Comptroller General and Zonal Headquarters for further instructions in accordance with Service practice.
“We want Nigerians to know that the Command will continue to demolish and degrade the activities of these criminal groups whose unpatriotic acts are causing unnecessary tension.” He added.



He also noted that the Customs Area Controller is committed to getting to the bottom of the incident in order to deal decisively with any individual or group of individuals found responsible for the heinous act, and that detailed facts would be available on December 20, 2021.
