Ozioma Orakwe, a 27-year-old lady from Anambra State, has been detained for the suspected murder of a 75-year-old man who is reported to be her cousin.
On Wednesday, there was news of a man who allegedly committed suicide in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area, for no apparent reason.

However, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, the Anambra State Police Command’s spokesperson revealed earlier today that the men of the command had been told about the situation, but that investigation revealed that the man had been murdered and set up to look like he had committed suicide.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Echeng Echeng, has today 4/3/2022 encouraged residents to always seek other measures of resolving their issues than resorting to fight/violence,” Ikenga added in the release.
“The CP offered this advice in response to the arrest of one Ozioma Orakwe ‘F’, a 27-year-old woman, for the alleged murder of Martin Orakwe ‘M’, a 75-year-old man from Amatutu village in Agulu Anaocha LGA.
“In response to a report of purported suicide by the deceased received on 2/3/2022 at 3:08 pm from one Mr Martin Orakwe, preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had a cut on his head and marks of violence all over his body.
“Additional evidence indicates that the victim had a quarrel with the suspect prior to his death, which resulted in a fight.”
The dead was said to have died in a struggle, and Orakwe staged his death to look like a suicide, according to Ikenga.
Meanwhile, police reported that its agents had found the deceased’s body, and that the suspect had also offered a useful statement that is aiding the investigation.
After a thorough investigation, he said that the case would be taken to the court of law.
